The Few, The Proud, The Elite - Do You Have What It Takes?

Do you want it?

How bad do you want it?

This is what it takes to be successful.

“To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Required.”

This is one of the best quotes I’ve ever heard, and I recite it daily; however, sometimes, I recite it backward.  To whom much is required, much is given.  It’s important to realize that a lot of responsibility comes with success and sometimes, we are struggling, but the success isn’t coming.  This is called a test of faith.  Do you have what it takes to be a good steward of your success?  Stay the course and you will prove your readiness when success happens.

Simplify Your Options

I recently read an article that resonated with me.  It discussed how, in this day and time, our options are unlimited, and this creates a generational crisis.  Because we have so many options, we are afraid to commit to only one option.  It was referring to relationships and I can see how this has happened; however, this concept goes far beyond relationships.  It has webbed out into every area of our lives.  Commitment is obviously top priority when it comes to success but narrowing your options can help you commit.

Get Rid of the Victim Mentality

Successful people don’t usually take all the credit; they share it with those who helped them reach the top.  And you know what else they don’t usually do?  They don’t blame others for their hardship.  I get it.  We all have people in our lives that have hurt us, shamed us, told us we were worthless and otherwise traumatized us, but the longer you stay in your misery and continue blaming them, the longer they continue to control your life – even if you’ve moved on.  Successful people share the credit, but they take all of the accountability for their own lives.

Do What Successful People Do

They GET UP and they SHOW UP every single day.  Have you ever noticed that they are so busy and that they seem to be everywhere, all the time? They have the same amount of time in their day that you have. So, how do they do this?  Nothing in their day is haphazard.  They schedule and structure their days to achieve tiny goals daily, including rest and relaxation.

Do It For As Long As Successful People Do It

There’s no limit to the amount of failures that can come before success comes, but if you haven’t tried at least 1,000 times, you’re not done.  There’s a reason successful people are called “elite.”  It’s because they are the few that are willing to keep going when things continue to look like they will never work out.  And they don’t stop.  They believe and therefore, they keep going.  Most of us stop well before we have tried 1,000 times.

Believe In Yourself

For every invention, there was a time that nobody else believed it to be possible, until it came to fruition.  Each invention came from someone who, even though it was only a hypothesis, believed that not only could it happen, but that they were the ones to make it happen.  If you have a dream, there is a reason this dream was planted in you and not someone else.
